The official store of the Texas Nationalist Movement.
Mirabeau B. Lamar led the cavalry at San Jacinto and became the second President of the Republic of Texas. He moved the capital to Austin and set aside land for public schools. In his inaugural address in December 1838, he told Texas what he thought of annexation.
Texas Legends No. 9 as a Christmas ornament: the cameo on the front, his words on the back: “I cannot regard the annexation of Texas to the American Union in any other light than as the grave of all her hopes of happiness and greatness.”
Round aluminum, about 3.5 inches across, printed on both sides, with a red ribbon. Printed to order.
Portrait after the engraving in The Poets and Poetry of Texas, 1885.
