The official store of the Texas Nationalist Movement.
Henry Smith was governor of the provisional government that led Texas through the first months of the revolution. As the Alamo held out, he called on Texans to march to its relief. The words on the back come from that appeal.
Texas Legends No. 10 on canvas: the woodcut portrait beside his words: “Let us show ourselves worthy to be free and we shall be free.”
Gallery-wrapped canvas, 1.25 inches deep, hand-stretched on wood bars, in warm black on Tan, 18 by 12 or 24 by 16 inches, landscape. Ready to hang. Printed to order.
Portrait after the frontispiece of John Henry Brown, Life and Times of Henry Smith, 1887.
